In times when none on the media dared to speak of the plight of the Baluch nation; the blogger himself and the FASTRising team went to the troubled province of Baluchistan to get the facts first hand. This multimedia rich post definitely was a breakthrough on the affairs and state of the Baluchistan. We; the majority were not aware of what was goin on in the war-zone of Baluchistan but this post told us all. I salute the blogger and the FASTRising team for this wonderful work. The pictures, videos and interviews with Baluch were excellent stuff to prove the point.

I have been following this blog for more than 2 years now. Here is why I love this blog:

1. The blogger has never given up on fredom of speech. In toughest times of emergency, military rule, cyber censorship etc, the blogger continued to post alterantive opinions without fear.

2. Despite direct threats to the blogger, which are evident from posts/comments; the work kept going. This is a novelty.

3. I would have voted for this blog if there have been no other reason other than this: http://epaper.dawn.com/artMailDisp.aspx?article=02_06_2008_177_011&typ=0.
The blog has been blocked twice in a period of 2 years. If a blogger can put so much of pressure on authorities that it gets blocked; if definitely proves that there is something with the blog. The block on the blog was reported in local dailies and it is from this I got to know this blog.

Good luck with the award! Its well deserved.
