Pakistan needs more Maulvis like him to come out of present mess. No doubt, his “tongue-in-cheek” comments are a source of wisdom rarely found in traditional Maulvis. My prays for his success where ever he dips his disco beard.

Blogging, Disco and Maulvi, hardly compatible to each other. But this guy is an exception. He is 3 in one.

If there was a award for the most unique nick, DISCO MAULVI would have won it for sure but err we are talking about the “Best Diarist” award here…the good thing is Disco Maulvi deserves to be a winner for that too because the reasons are many. Here are just a few:
1) Reading his blog is always refreshing because of the originality of the content
2) He does not focus on any single topic and blogs freely on all topics from religion to politics to mere random thoughts that pops up in his mind. Keeping the variety of content in view, his blog can very well be considered as the great communal diary!
3) He makes sure to respect and pay due attention to the readers of his blog by replying to mostly all the comments he gets.
4) I have been following his blog pretty much right from the beginning when he started blogging and the thing that impressed me the most is right from start, he posted well constructed posts rather than random “testing…” “‘am new …enjoying blogging” sorta posts that mostly people put up when they start blogging including myself :$
and as I said, these r just a few REASONS why he deserves to win the title of “best diarist”.

Jazak’Allah Khair @Fariha, for those lovely comments. Point 4 actually somtimes goes against me since in order to write a properly structured post I need time and a functioning brain. Work plays a major role in ensuring those two things dont occur.
Post Hajj I have actually resolved to focus on the blog and you will Insha’Allah see me more active. (Hopefully it will be with the same quality that I started with).

My desire, many years ago now, to bring Internet/email to Pakistan was based on the certainty that once given platforms for national development a great crop and whole generation of talented Pakistanis would step forward. This blog is a great example.
With a healthy sense of competition among the many other talented Pakistanis online too, as long as we keep Unity-Faith-Discipline as our guiding lights, there is nothing we cannot achieve for our nation. Pakistan Zindabad.

@Imran Bhai, you have done great service to the country by pushing us towards the information Age. I remember back in the day when 786 BBS was the only equivalent to the internet around here. I also remember the internet when Digicom came in and 12 kbps (or was it 16?) modems were around. SInce then the internet has grown leaps and bounds and Pakistan has grown right along Alhamdulillah.
Blogging is a great medium and even the mainstream media is now starting focus on their internet presence. their readers are getting more diversified content (how much of Ayaz Amir and Cowasjee can one handle anyways?).
Let’s see what the future brings for this rapidly evolving medium.
