Pakistaniat, or All Things Pakistan, is clearly and by far teh BEST Pakistani blog. Period. And Adil Najam is clearly the most respected and best Pakistani blogger. Just the fact that a person of his stature and experience is running a Pakistani blog shows just how far blogging in Pakistan has come. The truly unique thing is that this is clearly a blog and not just a discussion forum because it has opinions of teh bloggers and people read the blog really because of the blogger, especially Prof. Adil Najam. But it is also a blog that teh readers have ownership of and take very seriously as their own space. All Things Pakistan of ATP lives up to its name. It is truly about ALL THINGS PAkistan and talks about all things, politics, books, arts, society with a sensibility and good homour that really makes you think about what Pakistan is and should be in all its dimensions. All Things Pakistan could win in just about any and all categories and truly the most unique Pakistani blog that there is.

There is no other like All Things PakistN. Pakistaniat.com is the clear leaders. What willbe in ATP today willbe in other blogs tomorrow. Everyone takes theirlead from ATP, sometimes even newspapers. It is really the trendsetter and so mNy of the best blogs are clearly inflenced by Adil Najam and his blogging style.
As a blogger Adil Najam is clearly MR PAKISTAN and is tops especially as an inspirational and motivational blogger. But with him Owais Mughal is himself a star and he is also a major trend setter I. Pakistani blogging.

The Adil Najam-Owais Mughal combination is Pakistani blogging at it’s best.

The ATP team lead by Adil Najam and Owais Mughal has to be the hands down winnner. As others have said, Adil Najam not only created a great blog but has ushered a blogging revolution by prodding other good blogs that are all based on the Pakistaniat model (like Pak Tea House, Chup, etc.) So, Bravo Pakistaniat. You are the best.

  14. Farrukh says:

By the way, many bloggers measure their success by hits, and Pakistaniat is clearly the most visited blog. Others measure it by the money they generate, but what makes Pakistaniat unique is also that we can measure their success by the money they give away to good causes. I remember how they sent contributions from their advertising revenue to help ailing Pakistani singer Alamgir, and then how when the Taliban were destroying schools in Swat they began raising money from readers to rebuild schools. And then raising $10K from their advertising and reader contributions for the IDPs. The reasons so many of us are so loyal followers of this blog, even when we do not agree sometimes, is because it is more than a blog and really a new online community around the blog.

There are blogs, and then there is “All things Pakistan”, which is in a class of its own.
If you are a non Pakistani interested in smart commentary, rare insights and progressive ideas on the country, you can’t do better than reading ATP.

Pakistaniat is the best blog which represents Pakistan’s culture, traditions, politics and above all the spirit of Paksitaniat. My vote definitely goes with PAKISTANIAT

    [Reply]

  17. Haroon says:

Yes, Paksitaniat is in a class by itself.

For more than 2 years now, I have been visiting Paksitaniat. I visit every day, usually twice a day. I have nearly never missed a day from visiting this blog and each time there is something new and something surprising there for me. In the posts that are always fresh and innovative and also in the comments. Most important thing is that Pakistaniat not only has the best writers, it has the best readers and commenters.

This blog is most authentic Pakistani voice on teh web. Like no other blog at all. The very very best.

    Good luck Adil Najam.

Pakistaniat.com is the best Pakistani blog of all. Period!

    [Reply]

  19. Zaheer Ali says:

I first saw Pakistaniat.com about two years ago and I do not think I have missed a single day since then. Nor have they. Others rightly said that there is nothing else like it on the Pakistani web blogs. This is what you compare everything else with and once something is on Pakistaniat then every one else copies it. To me it is special because (1) it is always fresh and updated, (2) it is always original, (3) it is always surprising, (4) it seems to speak for Pakistanis everywhere, it will take on teh toughest topics like women rights, hudood, crime, politics and criticize strongly but is always always authentically Pakistani, and (5) because it is always reasonable and never angry or crazy with rage like others.

As they say, Lahore Lahore hai aur Pakistaniat, Pakistaniat hai!

ATP is the best. It is Pakistani through and through. Always great posts. Thoughtful and makes you think about Pakistan in new and positive ways. It is proud to be Pakistani but not just PR. Takes difficult topics and makes Pakistanis think about them. If you ask me to make a list of things I am proud of as a Pakistani then Pakistaniat.com will be one of them.

  34. Hajra A. says:

Pakistaniat is clearly the single best blog there is on Pakistan. I have followed it now for around 2 years and I do not think there has been a single day when I have not visited it a few different times. The fact that someoine like Prof. Najam writes on it every day or nearly is itself great but teh team he has assembled is superb and he is clearly the best blogger of Pakistan.

It is also a “real” blog. Nit just a collection from elsewhere but with a distinct view and opinion of its own but with a touch of a discussion space that allows and encourages different opinions.

Finally, I think its biggest strength is the diversity of topics. From funny top serious and from politics to music to poetry. Everything and in a way that every day you look forward to what it will surprise you with. And then the readers and their comments surprise you even more.

    Pakistaniat IS PAKISTAN.
    Five stars from me.

  35. S. Tayyab says:

Pakistaniat is really a daily destination for me. Sometimes many times a day. It is really the perfect blog. Not just perfect Pakistani blog but overall. Adil Najam is the spirit behind it and you cannot expect a more high calibre writer than him to write daily. But it really is the entire team and specially Owais ~Mughal who each add different dimensions to the mix. And the mix is really the magic. Everytime you visit you leave thinking you have learnt something new. From history we had forgotten to things media has not even picked up yet and to current news. But the real strength is its wide and engaged readers. The comments are sometimes even more interesting. And it is not just a few people but really a large number of regular commenters who keep a conversation going and sometimes you visit for them as much as everything else. PAKISTANIAT ZINDABAD, yes.

ATP is by far the most authentice and most readable blog on or by Pakistanis. It is teh only one that really has a ‘brand following’. People who visit it, visit it every day and many times every day. And they talk about it. I regularly have conversations with my friends who go like, “did you see the post of ATP today….” It is a trendsetter, a conversation setter and really something about Pakistan that you can tell to others about with pride.

  43. Zahida Ali says:

Alos, the recent post on the Facebook controversy in ATP has to be one of teh best blog posts in a Pakistani blog on anything, ever.
